Sondex Free Flow Plate Heat Exchanger
WHAT IS IT
Plate heat exchanger is heat transfer equipment used to transfer heat from one medium to the other indirectly.
In Sondex Free Flow Plate Heat Exchanger, The heat transfer plates are designed with a gap between plates up to 11 mm depending on the plate type. Because the pattern of the plate pressing is horizontal waves maintaining no “plate contact points” in the flow direction, the flow channels remain free of obstacles allowing the media / particles to flow freely.
The slender design of the plates creates a high thermal efficiency gaining high “thermal length”. This often results in a “single pass” solution for solving many tasks, and allows for all of the connections to be located on the head of the frame plate. This makes pipe work easier, as the unit can be opened without the need to remove the pipe work, easy draining effective CIP-cleaning and the possibility of ”backflushing” for cleaning purposes.
WHERE CAN IT BE USED
Sondex "Free Flow" product range offers distinct advantages, especially when used for liquids containing solids, particles, fibres or high viscous products i.e. pulp/paper industry, waste water treatment plants, sugar industry, juice production, grain based ethanol production, heat recovery systems and many other special tasks where the "normal" plate heat exchangers usually will block.
WHY IS IT GREEN
By means of technological innovation Sondex has developed and designed a new generation of plate heat exchangers that gives better mechanical and thermal efficiency.
- Special pattern engineered to reduce pressure drop and induce turbulence to achieve high k-value. High turbulence also means high local velocity which results in high shear stress and better self-cleaning effect
- Avoids dead-spot hence no fouling in stagnant zone
- High Operation Safety
- Exact Energy Transfer
- Low running costs
- No metal/metal contact in the PHE
- Up to 11 mm constant plate gap
- CIP cleaning
