Sondex Semi Welded Plate Heat Exchanger
WHAT IS IT
Plate heat exchanger is heat transfer equipment used to transfer heat from one medium to the other indirectly.
In Sondex Semi Welded Plate Heat Exchanger, semi welded plates are built up in plate cassettes. A plate cassette is 2 plates welded together by means of laser welding. The advantage by this construction is on the one side welded plate channel and on the other side a traditional plate channel with gaskets making assembling and cleaning of this side easier.
On the welded side there are two specially produced corner-hole gaskets creating the tightening between the two cassettes. Thus the gasket is reduced to a minimum on the welded side.
WHERE CAN IT BE USED
The Sondex Semi Welded products grant maximum performance, especially in the cooling industry, where ammonium is in use. Further by condensing, evaporating and other tasks with aggressive and critical medias, where the safety requires absolute no leaks to the atmosphere. Also by other special tasks, including the geo thermal and heat recovery area, with working pressure up to 25 bar.

By means of technological innovation Sondex has developed and designed a new generation of plate heat exchangers that gives better mechanical and thermal efficiency.
- Special pattern engineered to reduce pressure drop and induce turbulence to achieve high k-value. High turbulence also means high local velocity which results in high shear stress and better self-cleaning effect
- Even distribution across the plates
- Avoids dead-spot hence no fouling in stagnant zone
The wide Sondex Semi Welded product range with many plate sizes, can manage fluid ranges up to 1,400,000 l/h.
