What is Product of the Month?
Welcome to our Green Product of the Month. Each month we take one of the products that the team has recently reviewed and showcase it here. Every week, The Future Build team are finding out about some new, really cool green product.

Zumtobel LED Lights
Zumtobel is the first lighting company with Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) to be listed on The Future Build Portal and the first company in the lighting industry to have introduced (EPD) according to international standards ISO 14025 and EN 15804. These Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are product-specific environmental data sheets.
These independently audited EPDs document the environmental impact of a product over its entire life cycle, e.g. CO2 balance, proportion of recycled materials, material composition and recyclability.
With these EPDs, Zumtobel is once again taking a stand as a pioneer in environmentally compatible thinking and acting, offering its customers a new basis for taking their purchasing decisions based on environmentally relevant criteria.
Light Fields LED and Mellow Light V are the first lighting products to be launched on future build with EPD certifications.
Light is one of the basic human needs. Attaining the right light in the working environment is of particular importance, since factors like the ability to communicate and make decisions are continually gaining in significance.
Zumtobel Light Fields LED and Mellow Light V LED meet high requirements in terms of design and lighting quality without neglecting the efficiency of the luminaire.
Light Fields LED is a brilliant way to unite alleged contradictions. With an unrivalled high level of uniformity, and luminaire efficiency of more than 81 lumens per watt, this innovative LED luminaire marks the beginning of an era of technological change.
High luminaire efficiency leads to low power consumption; investing in a modern LED lighting solution using Light Fields therefore pays off after a short time.
Providing the same level of luminous efficiency, Light Fields LED saves over 30 percent of energy compared to a 4x14 W T16 luminaire. Energy consumption can be reduced even further when combining Light Fields LED with daylight-based and presence-based control.
The three-layered MPO+ sandwich ensures the brilliance of the Light Fields LED light and guarantees perfect glare control in conformity with EN 12464-1:2011. UGR of <19 are indicative of perfect lighting technology for office lighting. For vertical displays, the maximum Luminance levels above 65° are 1500 cd/mē.
The perfect combination of the soft Mellow Light V distribution and the high light output ratio makes the Mellow Ligth V the perfect choice for the modern workplaces. The pleasantly soft and wide-angle light distribution of Mellow Light V is based on natural daylight and ensures balanced and uniform distribution of brightness in the room.
Walls and ceilings appear significantly brighter, even at the same level of illuminance in the task area, which gives the room a friendly and pleasant atmosphere.
The customer can choose between three optics: the Brightness optic for maximum efficiency and free arrangement, the MicroVane optic, with its structured metal appearance and the High Definition optic which provides a perfect balance between efficiency and aesthetics.
The LED module of Mellow Light V LED has been designed to meet the high requirements placed on office lighting. Highly efficient LEDs with stable white light with colour temperatures of 3000 K or 4000K, with a colour rendition of Ra >80, ensure optimum lighting quality.
The light sources' long service life of 50,000 hours at a luminous flux of 75% is the result of intelligent customising at every level. Zumtobel's high level of quality is enhanced not only by sophisticated thermal management and innovative technologies, but also by first-rate material.
