Vector Foiltec was established in Germany in 1981. Vector Foiltec invented the use of Texlon©, the climatic envelope, almost thirty years ago and has successfully developed and promoted the use of this intelligent technology worldwide. The company now have offices worldwide including the USA, Europe, the Middle East, Russia and Australasia. The Vector Foiltec Group operates two ETFE foil production sites in China and Germany.
The technology took some time to be adopted in Europe due to the conservative nature of the building industry. Vector Foiltec's best clients in the early eighties were leisure centre operators in Northern Europe, who wanted to be able to replicate a Mediterranean climate for their guests. The short market payback for the leisure industry enabled clients to take a risk on a new technology.
We have built approximately 60 large aquatic environments and have unparalleled expertise in the design and engineering of high humidity environments. In the mid eighties, the technology began to be adopted for long life buildings in Europe, and particularly in the UK, where today, it has been accepted as an alternative to glass for all building types.
Vector Foiltec maintains its market lead by continuing to invest heavily in Research and Development. Vector Foiltec now has the largest and most comprehensive body of material research available worldwide for ETFE foil technology, and has been responsible for all key technical innovations in the field, many of which are patented and only available from the Vector Foiltec Group. Vector Foiltec develops and supports a number of research programmes throughout the world. This coupled with our extensive experience enables us to offer clients unparalleled expertise.
We offer clients a complete design and construction service, from initial concept through to scheme design, production, installation and facilities management. Our scope of services frequently includes the design and engineering of support structures and adjacent cladding.
Such expertise is clearly demonstrated in the adoption of the technology by leading Architects and Engineers around the world, for projects which range from Olympic venues and public spaces to corporate atria.
Through sophisticated load analysis and patterning we can engineer Texlon© to virtually any size or shape, allowing designers to make full use of the products innate flexibility and creating structures of unusual lightness and elegance.
