WHAT IS IT
Designed for low and medium wind speed sites onshore and offshore, the V112-3.0 MW turbine is a highly productive and cost-effective turbine. It delivers high productivity due to its large swept area, higher rotor efficiency and better serviceability and reliability, which in turn improve availability.
This model can generate more power than other turbines in the 3 MW class. Its reliability is assured through the state-of-the-art Vestas testing centre. It provides maximum siting flexibility for customers worldwide as it is split into 70-tonne modules during transportation, enabling use of standard equipment and trailers. The turbine components are designed with modularity in mind, having a large number of standard components that several suppliers can provide. The V112-3.0MW has advanced power electronics conversion, which ensures stable and scalable output from the turbine.
Also, its design facilitates a smarter use of space, while also setting new standards for ergonomics and safety in the nacelle.

WHY IS IT GREEN
Wind power is clean
Wind power produces energy, pure and simple. No CO2, no other greenhouse gasses, no hazardous waste left behind as a poisonous legacy for future generations. And, unlike coal and nuclear plants, it doesn’t swallow huge amounts of water – which is itself becoming a scarce resource.
Clean energy efficiency for the entire life cycle
A Vestas 3.0 MW wind turbine produces the same amount of electricity as 13,000 barrels of oil each year – without the emissions. But clean energy also has to be assessed on a power plant’s entire life cycle, from construction to dismantling. Even with the environmental impact of raw materials, manufacturing, transport, service and disposal, a Vestas 3.0 MW onshore turbine is carbon neutral after only 6.6 months of energy production. As a further benefit, 80 per cent of each turbine we make is recyclable.
