WHAT IS IT

ConturaLED is an intelligent illuminant developed by Westiform which reacts via sensors to ambient light. The luminous intensity of the advertising signs thus automatically adapts to lighting conditions. Thanks to our product innovation, an energy savings of up to 90% is possible compared to a conventional system (neon). Specially designed LED’s by Westiform thus offer optimal energy management and require an absolute minimum in terms of power and resource use.

WHERE CAN IT BE USED

ConturaLED is used as an illuminant for illuminated signs. Illuminated signs show the way, make a building identifiable and give a company an identity. Brand, colour and lettering are key components in representing a company to the public. ConturaLED adapts to individual illuminated letters regardless of the desired shape. Your illuminated sign is thus perfectly adapted to your corporate design. Thanks to our ability to craft individual and innovative series products with ConturaLED and produce small batches and individual orders, we are very flexible and are able to cater to the requirements of our customers.

WHY IS IT GREEN

Energy Savings of up to 90%
Over the past several years, light emitting diodes, LED’s for short, have been replacing traditional neon illuminated advertising signs more and more. In comparison to neon, LED’s impress with a substantially lower energy consumption and thus a lower CO2 emission. In signs with conventional LED's, the individual plates often contain several points of light and cannot be placed efficiently in the luminous element. ConturaLED on the other hand adapts to the contours of your illuminated advertising sign and thus permits a systematic arrangement. Thanks to this capability, your sign displays an optimal, homogeneous illumination, while using considerably fewer illuminants and thus less energy. Operating your illuminated sign thus allows you to achieve an energy savings of up to 90% compared with conventional illuminants (neon). At the same time, you reduce CO2 emissions.

Daylight Control Intelligent Control System (DC)
ConturaLED is combined with the intelligent control system "Daylight Control" DC in order to take full advantage of the energy savings potential. Daylight Control reacts to ambient light via sensors and the luminous intensity of the signs is automatically adapted to lighting conditions. Energy is only used when it is needed. When used at twilight, the luminous intensity is increased to the maximum and at night it is reduced to the absolutely necessary level. Only at twilight does an illuminated sign have to reveal its full luminance since at night the human eye only requires a low luminous intensity. In daylight, the illuminated sign turns off automatically. The result is a considerably lower energy consumption.

Protection of Species for Nocturnal Insects
By using wavelengths and colour spectra which are invisible to nocturnal insects, their numbers are not jeopardised, thus contributing to protecting insect species. Moreover, contamination of the illuminated signs is considerably reduced and fewer products are needed to clean them.
