What is it
The 3D Panel is a prefabricated three dimensional lightweight panels consisting of an insulated polystyrene core sandwiched between two engineered layers of galvanized steel welded wire fabric mesh.
The 3D panels receives their strength and rigidity from the diagonal truss wires welded to the wire mesh layers on each side of the panels that pass through the core.
These panels are light weight, have high value of recycled material, are adaptable to any shape easily and have a superior thermal property.
Where can it be used
The 3D panels can be used as a total self supporting structure eliminating need for columns, beams and framed structures where the 3D Panels are used as walls and slabs. After 3D Panels are installed shotcrete / concrete is sprayed / poured to form the structures.
Or the 3D panels can be used as infill walls (Internal & External) to replace block work in framed structures. Panels are placed, anchored to existing frame and sprayed with Shotecrete materials.
The two above ways of application will provide you with a green edge while saving not only your money but your time also.
Why is it green
The 3D panels consists of two major components, EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) & Galvanized Mesh & trusses. The EPS core produces minimal emissions during manufacturing and is free from formaldehyde, ozone depleting CFC’s and HCFC’s. All the pentane used for expanding the polystyrene is extracted from the finished product so it can be reused over and again.
As for the Galvanized mesh & trusses are produced with Hot-dip galvanizing technology which can contribute positively to sustainable development initiatives because of its longevity in corrosion protection, 100% recyclability, and minimal environmental impact. The hot-dip galvanized coating is comprised of over 98% zinc metal. Additionally, because galvanizing provides maintenance-free corrosion protection for 50+ years, it does not require additional energy, materials, or environmental impact expended to constantly maintain the coating.
On the other hand and regarding the application and finished building behavior, the 3D panels will reduce on site Co2 emission due to its light weight (no heavy machinery), will provide a high Breathability for the Buildings - (Vapor resistivity and condensation) - due to its Hygrothermal behavior, will reduce the consumption of energy needed for HVAC due to its thermal insulation properties; moreover the 3D Construction System for a Villa have less carbon footprint once compared with conventional system – cradle to site gate LCA (ISO 14040) & Modeling approach (Carbon footprint calculator 1.2 Beta, Environment Agency) – the total Co2 emission 20 years is 1,499 Tone to be compared with 1,664 tones of Co2 for the same villa built with conventional system.
